With the 2022 election taking place on June 19, Andalusian elections will be closer. This is the day when the polling stations will be ready to receive the votes of the more than 6,000,000 citizens who are called to vote. Although there may be some unexpected circumstances that might affect the day, everything has been planned well in advance.

One has to do about absentees at polling stations. Each table has a president, two members and two alternates. There are two alternates for each president. This is to ensure that the operation of the desk does not suffer from an absent president and two members. Before the election day begins, the president, members and alternates must be present.

If someone is absent, they will be replaced by an alternate. It may happen that three persons are required at the polling station. What happens if that happens? This fact must be reported to the Electoral Board of the Zone, as per the Manual for members of the electoral tables. If no solution is found by 10:00 AM, a new vote will be called. This will take place in the next two days with another polling station.

Other than the possibility of a polling station being closed, extreme circumstances can also affect the outcome. One is the ballot papers. They can become completely exhausted, or they may be used by some political parties. They must be replaced immediately in this instance. If they cannot be replaced, interruptions of voting are allowed up to one hour. In addition, polls can be delayed accordingly.

The electoral exercise may be suspended if the problem of low ballots is not solved within the one-hour maximum delay. The president, the remaining members of the electoral board and the Electoral Board of the Zone will make the final decision. In this case, a new date for voting would be set in the two days following.
