Bluescazorla keeps the dates in its third edition Bluescazorla Blues Battle band contest. This year, the contest will continue in April. It has the same character as the Bluescazorla festival, but it is independent and binding.
This contest’s third edition will take place on April 19, 20, and 21. It hopes to host more than 150 performers from across the country. The economic value of the prizes is still at 1,000 and 500 euros for the first and second prizes. The winning bands will also have the opportunity to perform on Plaza de Santa Maria’s Saturday and Friday of the festival.
Antonio Jose Rodriguez, Mayor of Cazorla, stated that the initiative was designed to encourage artistic creation in blues, and thereby contribute towards its dissemination and social dissemination as well as promote knowledge and research into new trends, languages, and forms of musical expression.
The first mayor stated in this line that “this contest was a way to recognize bluesmen, amateur musicians, and all music lovers who have year after year supported and followed Festival and who, in one way or the other, are the soul and soul of Bluescazorla”. He recalled that “the last edition had exceeded all expectations and was almost fully booked in certain hotels during the contest’s three-day duration”.
Rodriguez stated that the Festival should be disassociated from it in terms of dates.
The mayor also highlighted the “closeness” of the event between musicians and the public, which makes Cazorla a multi-cultural benchmark for music and blues in general.
