The City Council is implementing different interventions on streets in the city. These interventions are outlined in the Municipal Asphalting Micro Plan which envisages putting 4,200 meters of asphalt in use with a budget close to 50,000 Euros. Jeronimo Garcia (Councilor for Infrastructure Maintenance) said that these are minor works that improve the image and balance of Ubeda.

These works were possible due to the Treasury area’s management, which has allowed positive cash balances to reach 2.9million euros. This amount is allowing the municipality to make improvements. He noted that this money would allow him to continue the Local Plan for Socioeconomic Reactivation as well as the measures that assist small and medium-sized construction firms in the city.

One of the actions was carried out on Marques de Santillana Street, while others are planned for streets like Clavel Beltraneja, Juan XXIII and Beltraneja. He explained that these were historical claims we had collected from neighbors. We have not considered intervening at the surface because their infrastructures were good.”

Councilor for Infrastructure Maintenance stated that the Consistory is aware that there are many streets that need improvement. It is intervening to address them, taking into consideration the severity of the diagnosis and the economic capabilities of the local administration. He stated that “Taking into consideration our budget, it is working to reach as many as possible.”

This plan will allow for the construction of places like the San Pedro neighborhood and the Atalaya neighborhood, Avilas Rosas, Zurbaran, Andalucia, and Avilas Rojas. He concluded that “we continue to work to improve the city and this is evident by the many works being done.”
