Andres posted a selfie-style video late on Monday, calling attention to the dire situation of Ukrainians fleeing violence in their country. He stated that it was difficult to know that many Ukrainian refugees, mainly women and children, are outside in freezing temperatures waiting to flee the country.

Andres also attacked Russian President Vladimir Putin who demanded the invasion of Ukraine. At least 677,000 people fled Ukraine after the invasion, according to U.N refugee agency.

World Central Kitchen, the charity of a renowned chef, stated that it is currently in Ukraine, Romania, and Poland to help people who are hungry. Andres, a Tuesday update, filmed himself at a local bakery near Lviv, Ukraine where he donated flour to a bakery in dire need.

He said, “People need to eat.” “And sometimes, in a bakery such as this, you can see people being helpful with the bread.”
The U.N. has launched
an Emergency Appeal to raise $1.7 million. It cites a “steep increase in humanitarian needs as essential supplies are disrupted and civilians flee fighting.” According to the U.N., 12 million Ukrainians will require protection and assistance.
