The young Micah Hamilton (20 years old) started for the first time in his career in the Champions League during Manchester City’s victory against Belgrade (2-3). Positioned on the right flank of the Skyblues, it was not the first time that the Englishman received instructions from Pep Guardiola on the edge of the pitch.

In 2017, he was already attentive to the advice of the Spanish tactician but as a ball boy. During the victory against Crystal Palace (5 – 0), Guardiola wanted the game to be more fluid and therefore came to give his instructions as if he were speaking to his players.

Six years later, Micah Hamilton once again listened to the Manchester City coach speak to him but this time he was on the pitch. Thanks to the words of his coach, the young Englishman scored his first in the Champions League to allow his team to finish this group stage undefeated.

Asked about the subject at a press conference after the match, the coach no longer remembered the scene. This did not prevent him from showering praise on the young player following his performance. Pep Guardiola clearly identified his creativity and altruism, without forgetting to talk about his “fantastic goal”.

The Citizens await the draw for the round of 16 which will take place on Monday (12 p.m.). They could come across PSG or Inter Milan, both qualified second in their group.
