The Versailles Court of Appeal validated on Friday the fact that the police wiretapped the car and home of ex-PSG player Aminata Diallo in the investigation into organized gang fraud opened after the attack on Kheira Hamraoui.
The investigating chamber of the Versailles court rejected the request for nullity of these sound systems, presented by Aminata Diallo’s lawyers, AFP learned from the public prosecutor.
These listening devices had been installed in Aminata Diallo’s vehicle and apartment by police officers from the banditry suppression brigade (BRB). The tapping was carried out between April and September 2022.
After the attack on November 4, 2021 on PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui, a judicial investigation was opened for criminal conspiracy and aggravated violence. The investigation was then broadened into organized gang fraud due to suspicions of actions in the entourage of Aminata Diallo, suspected of being involved in the attack on Ms. Hamraoui, against a backdrop of sporting rivalry.
Furthermore, in this aspect, César Mavacala, sports advisor to several Parisian players and close to Ms. Diallo, saw his indictment for extortion be the subject of a partial nullity on Friday at the same hearing of the chamber of instruction, his lawyer, Me Sandrine Pegand, told AFP. Concretely, this means that the period for which Mr. Mavacala is indicted is reduced from July to November 2021 instead of January to November 2021 previously.
Me Pegand welcomed this decision which, according to her, marks “a turning point for the continuation of this procedure”. “May it now allow a calm and objective analysis of the accusation brought against my client who will continue to defend himself forcefully,” added the lawyer, in a press release sent to AFP. Mr. Mavacala is notably suspected of having put pressure on the Parisian club in favor of extending the contract of Parisian star Marie-Antoinette Katoto, on the condition that Kheira Hamraoui leaves PSG at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
Kheira Hamraoui, who has 41 caps for the French team, has been playing at Club America in Mexico since September. Aminata Diallo left PSG in June 2022 and currently plays for the Saudi club Al-Nassr.
