If you are one of the many danes, who is a fan of ‘The big bagedyst’, then you may already now begin to delight you.
the DR is just now starting to cast contestants for a new season of ‘The big bagedyst’, where the participants are 12 to 16 years.
The new programme has been named ‘Juniorbagedysten’, and thereby surprised the DR at the children down to 12 years for the first time on Danish television, given the opportunity to participate in the ‘Bagedysten’.
According to Eva Kvist, who is redaktionschef on DR Culture, Children & Youth, there are several reasons why they now have chosen to bet on a bageprogram for children and young people.
– We can see that ‘The great bagedyst’ is a program that many children and young people care about. I have been involved with that cast participants in the last three-four years, and there are many young actors that care much for baking. Now, the program has been running for ten years, and it makes maybe, that more will be inspired to try to bake at home yourself and practice it together with the family, ” she says, and continues:
– Therefore, we have thought that there could be a huge potential to make a programme with children and young people. We no longer go down than 12 years, for the idea is still that it must be a familieprogram. ‘The big bagedyst’ is a popular programme, which has a high level of public service. It’s all about Danish culture, and it creates a sense of community, and it is also the idea, that it must be the case in the new program, she says.

Although ‘Juniorbagedysten’ will be a programme for children and young people, it does not mean that the viewers should expect a lower technical level.
– the Idea is that it will still be the same high level of baking and production. It is not a light-production, and on the way will it not ‘børnet’. The intention is to find talented children and young people with a high level, says Eva Kvist.
– How come the ‘Juniorbagedysten’ to distinguish themselves from ‘The big bagedyst’?
– the Content of the program is we first started to develop on now. But that will not be made about the basic structure of the program, but of course, we are thinking out of the box, says Eva Kvist continues:
– It’s really the thought that ‘Junior’-the program shall be the same as ‘The big bagedyst’. As a viewer my impression is that you will be very impressed by the amatørbagerne, and how talented they are and how much they evolve through the programs. Here you will probably be extra impressed with the young amatørbagere.

– It can be enormously stressful to be in ‘The big bagedyst’ with many optagedage, etc. What are the precautions you will take when In the work with children?
– It is not so many optagedage, and it will not be such a long season. Of course we have also thought about how it must be in relation to the school year. The times we have had children with, they have been able to make arrangement with their schools, and we hope can happen here also. Most schools can see that it is good experience to be in the ‘Bagedysten’. But we have ensured that there are fewer optagedage, and we do of course take into account that it is children, you have to do.
According to Eva Kvist has not yet decided who will be the judges of the new program.
the Filming of ‘Juniorbagedysten’ takes place over six working days in september 2020 (week 38, 39 and 40), and the program will be recorded in the vicinity of Randers.
