Continues at full pace the commitment of the Centre to the Antarctic of Bologna in the field of road safety. The association of bologna, in collaboration with the trade unions, pensioners Spi-Cgil, Fnp Cisl and Uilp Uil, has just re-launched its national campaign for “We are all pedestrians” created to promote the safety of vulnerable road users and the livability of the city.

By eleven years, this initiative combines the activities of information and awareness-raising interventions in the city aimed at encouraging walking, cycling or public transport.

The tragic incidents of these past days that have seen protagonists the pawns have been put under the spotlight once again, the theme of the terrible situation of pedestrians and cyclists, i.e. the weakest links in the chain of road users.

So, the eleventh edition of the campaign We are all pedestrians with the accent on the potential of generative relations of the cities, an aspect that has to be rediscovered in the design but also in the ways of living in the metropolis, by focusing on the safety and livability.

Among the various initiatives related to the project of the Centre, the Antarctic has just done a new appointment dedicated to children with “Porto Zaragoza is well in the street”, that has seen protagonists the children of the 1 B of the primary school, Manzolini.

Together with the teachers and the vice-mayor, Marilena Pillati, the school children of the district of bologna are “appropriate” in a space usually used as a car park for scooters, thinking as the place in the measure of the smaller, of street game, of beauty and relationship.

With great determination, and armed with paints and brushes, the children have as well redesigned a corner of the city in the format of conviviality, rest, fun, and relationships.

The event is promoted with the support of the district of bologna, network with Mom-Approved, Leila and the Social Centre of the Ancescao August 2, 1980, intends to stimulate a process of community building by giving a new centrality to public spaces as the location of meeting and socializing permanent and not tied simply to the initiatives impromptu, formal and informal, of the territory.
