In the Box MV Agusta are quite a lot of men. Only the boss is a woman. And still young. 34 Milena is grains, which constitutes the world of motorcycles and macho on the head. love at first sight at the GP-visit 13
Milena grains is the first female team boss since 1949, the term motorcycle world championship. Their role is, even if the times of 2019 are different, a Sensation. It would take like a man swimming in the synchronous responsibility. And, somehow, much more.
Because of the MotoGP circus is even stronger when the formula 1 is a tough business with tough guys. The petite grains you would imagine at first glance, rather as the leader of a gang of Italian motorcycle freaks. After the first words, however, one is aware of how important it is to her, not on her gender reduced. She asks sternly: “Who cares that I’m a woman?” Crucial expertise, enthusiasm, and performance.
There are categories in which grains must hide at all. She grew up in the vicinity of Zwickau, about a 20-minute drive from the Sachsenring away, and she was 13 when her grandparents take her for the first time to a GP. “It was love at first sight,” says the German. You haven’t had a Pass for the paddock, but about two hours at the entrance loitered, until the security people had a View. She regularly attended the race as a Teenager, her father is a Fan. “Other girls were interested in horses or football, I for motorcycles.”
you got to the GP-world Visit to get a better knowledge, made contacts, received the first orders – also as one of the pit girls to be abolished in motorcycle sport soon.
grains studied business administration and intercultural communication. An exchange year in Italy, graduated from. The GP world got to know when to Visit getting better and better, made contacts, received the first orders – also as one of the pit girls to be abolished in motorcycle sport soon also. “Clearly some people see the young women as an object, perhaps even as a sex object,” she says, “but these are clichés. Many do, in order to Finance their studies, to travel the world, meet interesting people.”
For 15 years, grains is available in the Business on the go. As a Guest relations Manager, in Marketing and in the logistics, the press did long work for the Tech3 Team, the coordinator, and earned the nickname “Pitbull”, she’s quite proud of. “You have to earn respect,” she says. In addition to German and Italian grains Spanish, French, and English-speaking, it is straightforward and fast and has no trouble self-confidently. “I can be uncomfortable, if something is not implemented.”
of Course, the grains experienced regular moments in which she as a woman is difficult. “In the beginning I often notice, that you trust me the same qualifications as a man. But if you know me, there will be no more problems.” She is detail-obsessed, know about the inner workings of a motorcycle, surprised at the mechanic, have at times probably effort, a woman to be conducted. “It was not always easy. The Thinking is: A woman has no idea of motorcycles.”
Today, you’ll be respected. And if the men had the feeling that they are under, have you learned from time to time and wegzuhören. “No one has to adjust.”
ascension is the consequence of their persistent way
Since 2017 grains leads the team to the dazzling owner Giovanni Cuzari. Perhaps it is the consequence of their persistent way. She says herself, it was never your goal to become a team boss. “With all of the other tasks have a lot of Fun.”
The MotoGP-life was intense, with many travels on all continents, sometimes it was months at home in Italy, where she lives with her boyfriend. To start a family anyway, was currently not an issue. “I have an unusual work. But I’ve never wanted anything else.”
And so would not be a surprise, should go punch rise further. She has the reputation of a meticulous, sometimes pedantic Boss. And your female Soft Skills allow her a to a certain extent, unique view on things. Dominique Aegerter says he never had the feeling of grains is unprepared. “She’s a perfectionist,” he says. And Aegerter’s Manager, Oliver Imfeld, who negotiated with grains for months over a further employment of his driver, describing the German as “consistent, honest, knowledgeable”.

in mid-November season is the end of – and grains will find a couple of days rest. “When I’m at home, I think it would be nice to enjoy all the things that I like. But after a short time, it pulls me away.” Hobbies such as Boxing and Fitness back again in the Background.
As a pioneer, however, Milena grains is not. “It is not going to give soon, several female team leaders. This is and will remain a men-dominated business.” It doesn’t bother you. “I’ve never paid attention to what others say.”
