of The Turkish culture, patron of the arts, and civil rights activist Osman Kavala has to remain despite international criticism in prison. The court will, at the negotiated high-security prison in Silivri, West of Istanbul, in front of the currently istanbul escort against Kavala, rejected a request for dismissal.
Kavala is located since more than one and a half years in detention. The also accused activist Yigit Aksakoglu comes free after about seven months in custody, not allowed to leave the country. He must report regularly to the police.

The process against Kavala, Aksakoglu, and 14 other persons were on the 18. July adjourned. The process had begun on Monday. The prosecution accuses the defendant of an “attempt to overthrow the government”. After the release of Aksakoglu Kavala is the only defendant in custody.
The activists of the Turkish civil society, are organized according to the indictment, the government’s critical Gezi protests in the summer of 2013. Kavala is also accused of the protests with foreign aid financed. The Prosecutor calls for all the accused to life imprisonment.
