Nicolas Cage is a Berserker of the art of acting. At least he is known for shrill rollers as the manic Yuppie in “Vampire’s Kiss” (1988), considers himself to be a vampire. In “The Wicker Man” (2006), in turn, he played a police officer who was tortured by the pagan villagers with a bonnet full of bees – cage’s unintentionally hilarious gebrülltes “Not the bees!” has been endlessly parodied.
Also, his new movie, “Mandy” is an act of violence: As he plunges as a lumberjack Red in his bathroom and fetches a bottle of brandy from the Cabinet. He drinks half of it, with the Rest, he disinfected the wounds on his body – he grunts, roars and howls.

A group of “Jesus Freaks” has tortured his girlfriend Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) and killed. But Red has survived the attack. Now he has only one thing in mind: bloody revenge. Until the brutal end, the woodcutter long ago, a maniac as all Evil.

the plot is not the least bit original, makes nothing: Cage provides more than enough spectacle. To Director Panos Cosmatos pays homage to the surrealist nightmares of David Lynch or Dario Argento, but especially the images and the music of the Metal scene. The result is similar, but funny as cage’s game.
