Fans of Elon Musk can rejoice: the whimsical American entrepreneur will speak at the VivaTech trade fair this year again, for the second time in a row. The businessman, behind Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and even Thursday, formalized the French show dedicated to new technologies.

“This will be an opportunity to discuss his vision, the advances in AI […] and the latest developments from Tesla,” adds the organization, on be disappointed: it will be remotely, and will answer questions from the public by videoconference, at 5:30 p.m., for one hour, specifies VivaTech.

Last year, Elon Musk already went to the Paris show, this time in person. In front of a packed room and an overheated atmosphere, the billionaire put on a show: greeted by thunderous applause, he returned to different subjects, without making a single announcement. He thus called for a pause in the development of artificial intelligence, even believing that there was a “real danger with artificial intelligence”. A message that resonates all the more strongly this year, while several American giants, such as Google and Microsoft, have worked hard to develop this technology with tempting prospects.

Difficulties of Tesla, success of SpaceX or Neuralink, controversies around the social network Thursday sequence. Including, perhaps, a possible gigafactory in France, a project widely discussed last year, and which has since fallen into limbo? The event will, in any case, be closely scrutinized.
