After Antoine Dupont, another star will try the adventure of rugby 7 with a view to the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is the Australian Michael Hooper, 32-year-old third row.
The former Wallabies captain has officially signed a contract with the Australian rugby sevens team. “The transition from one to the other is something I have thought a lot about and I am extremely motivated by the challenge what it’s like to play sevens and try to earn my place on this team,” said Hooper, who spoke of an “extremely exciting year”.
The Sydney native, who has 125 caps with Australia but was not selected by Eddie Jones for the last World Cup, explains that he “started to make some changes” to his training. He will make his first tour in January.
