The coach of the Spanish club Villarreal, José Rojo “Pacheta”, was dismissed from his functions barely two months after his appointment and only managed twelve games, the current 13th in Liga announced on Friday.

According to the Spanish press including the newspaper AS, the next coach of the “yellow submarine” could be Marcelino, who left the Olympique de Marseille bench in September and already coached Villarreal from 2012 to 2016.

After parting ways with Quique Setien in early September, Villarreal announced in a statement that his successor “José Rojo Martin” Pacheta “was no longer part of the club”.

Second in its group in the Europa League behind Rennes, after its victory on Thursday against Maccabi Haifa (2-1), Villarreal is in a disappointing 13th place in the league. Director of football Miguel Angel Tena will supervise training on Saturday and will be on the bench when they travel to Atlético Madrid on Sunday at 9 p.m. on La Liga matchday 13.
