Between 1796 and 1804, letters written found for 513’500 Euro a buyer as the auction house Drouot announced. In addition, other historical items from the bankruptcy of an investment company arrived at the auction under the Hammer.

In the letter, from the year 1796 Napoleon complains during his Italy campaign, to receive no news of Josephine. “No letter from you, my lovely friend, you’re so sweet pastimes, because you forget your husband, thinks in the midst of all Affairs, and extreme fatigue only to you, only you sought-after. (…). I am in isolation. You have forgotten me.”

At the auction in the French capital were sold at auction on Thursday, numerous other historical items. So one of the Wehrmacht used the Enigma encryption machine from world war II, achieved a price of 48’of 100 euros.

manuscript of a journalist, highly sought after

a manuscript of the revolutionary journalist Camille Desmoulins, who was guillotined in 1794, came under the Hammer. The font, which he had made during his trial, to his defense, was auctioned for 24’700 euros.
