Cyclocross Denise Betsema denies that they were doping. Reports that her team Marlux-Bingoal in a press release. The team put the Dutch rider, however, for now non-active. Earlier today the UCI announced that Betsema positive test to anabolic steroids.
“The management of Marlux-Bingoal was announced today by the international wielerfederatie UCI will be informed of a positive doping test of a cyclist Denise Betsema during a control at the world cup race in Hoogerheide on January 27,” reported the team in a brief statement.
“contacts between management and rider denied Denise Betsema in the meantime, the facts fully. Pending the outcome of the B steel, and the further course of the UCI-procedure, the management has decided to Denise Betsema on non-active.”
The 26-year-old Betsema broke the past veldritseizoen all the way through with less than fifteen victories. They won the world cup race in Koksijde, the Superprestigewedstrijd in Middelkerke and the DVV Trophy race in Antwerp. At the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in early February in the Danish Bogense she was fourth. Betsema extended at the end of February until her contract with Marlux-Bingoal until the end of 2023.
