Sint-Truiden At the opening of the Hesbaye Bloesembar the Brewery Wilderen its new beer, the first time, proposed. Spicy detail: the beer bears the name of Betty Ford, the founder of the Betty Ford Center… the most well-known rehab of the USA.
‘ BETTY FORD has only just launched and is now in full the first time in Belgium, available at the LFR Bloesembar ’ posted the Brewery last weekend on Facebook. BETTY FORD is a clear Premium Red Ale of 5.2%. “Because no great story ever began with a glass of milk’ (since no punishment story ever started with a glass of milk, ed.) is on the beautifully designed glasses to read. But the name evokes violent reactions, not in the least because of the background of the lady.
Betty Ford
Ford was the wife of former U.s. president Gerald Ford and was first lady of the United States between 1974 and 1977. The woman struggled in the 60’s and 70’s of the last century with an addiction to painkillers and alcoholism, and would only be converted after an intervention by her family in 1978. After 1982 full afgekickt, she founded the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California, an institution for treatment against chemical dependency. Celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, David Hasselhoff and Johnny Cash would be there with their addictions to overcome, but also non-celebrities found their way to the centre.
