Venezuela’s constitutional Assembly has lifted the parliamentary immunity of opposition leader Juan Guaidó. The Assembly, which is firmly behind the controversial head of state, Nicolás Maduro, was unanimously a request of the Supreme court.
The members agreed there is also a decree according to which proceedings for Usurpation against the opposition should leaders be continued. “The judiciary will initiate, in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in the criminal law provided for steps”, – said the Chairman of the Assembly, Diosdado Cabello.
