“The mutilated dolphins washed ashore in France”

“at Least 1 100 dead and severely mutilated dolphins have been washed ashore on the beaches along France’s atlantic coast, according to the environmental organization Sea Shepard. The representative of the organisation also says that the real number of killed dolphins could be much higher, and mentions figures of between 6 000 and 10 000.”

“The marine biological research station operated by the Observatoire Pelagis writes on its website that the number of dead dolphins found in France since the winter of 2017 has reached record levels. Around 90 percent of the animals that have been examined show evidence of drowning and the assumption is that they are stuck in fishing nets. The damage to the dolphins bodies are described as extreme.”
