Surrogate mother A British woman has her own grandchild on the world. Sounds bizarre? For Emma Miles (55) it was, however, a pure necessity. Her daughter was born without a womb and could, therefore, no offspring is born. By now yourself as a surrogate mother to act, the 55-year-old grandma is the ultimate dream of Tracey Smith achieved.

Tracey suffers from MRKH syndrome, which she has to do it without vagina and uterus. The ovary is working well, it does, so it was through IVF, an embryo is produced. That was then implanted in the body of Miles.

By her high age, walked the woman to an increased risk of miscarriage, or even pre-eclampsia. To that risk as much as possible within limits to keep, she had to first 38 kilogram weight. A heavy task it with pleasure to a good end spent… All for the happiness of her daughter, right?

“Terrible thought”
On January 16, was Evie and healthy with a caesarean section birth. “That Tracey never to have children would be able to get, I found a terrible thought,” says Miles. “Right after the diagnosis of the cases was, I offered her my help. About my high age, I had no worries, I wanted this really for Tracey to do. I am glad that I can return to normal work now. But if they have a brother or sister for Evie want to, I am immediately ready to use again.”

In 2011 was Pamela Butler from Blackwood (Wales) in the same boat: she was 57 when she had her grandson Joseph in the world brought. The record is 67 (!) springs however, in the name of the Greek Anastassia Ontou.
