The Renaudot Prize jury selected five finalists on Thursday for this award given on the same day as the Goncourt, including Gaspard Koenig, in the running for both. The prize must be awarded on November 7, at the Drouant restaurant in Paris, just after Goncourt, as tradition dictates. Renaudot, however, has flexible regulations which allow it to crown books that it would not have included in any selection. Journalist Sorj Chalandon and former television columnist Lilia Hassaine are favorites for novels.

The Renaudot Prize jury is made up of Jean-Noël Pancrazi, Georges-Olivier Châteaureynaud, Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Dominique Bona, Patrick Besson, Frédéric Beigbeder, Cécile Guilbert, Stéphanie Janicot and Mohammed Aïssaoui.

A prestigious award coveted by novelists, in 2022 the winner of the Renaudot Simon Liberati (Performance) declared: “It brings a certain joy whose depth I do not yet understand.”
