Thirty-five French people were killed in the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7 against Israel, and nine are missing, according to a new report published Thursday October 26 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “France deplores the tragic death of new French nationals, which brings to 35 the toll of French victims in the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel,” indicates the press release from the Quai d’Orsay.
“Nine compatriots are still missing. It is now confirmed that some of them are hostages of Hamas,” the text adds. “We are doing everything we can to obtain their release.” These hostages are among more than 200 people kidnapped in Israel on October 7 and taken to Gaza by the attackers. To date, two American and two Israeli women have been released. French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on Tuesday October 24 during his trip to Israel with families of hostages. According to Israeli authorities, the Hamas attack on October 7 left more than 1,400 dead, most of them civilians.
According to the Hamas terrorist group, Israeli bombings in Gaza to “annihilate” Hamas have left more than 7,000 dead, mostly civilians, including nearly 3,000 children. This report has not been confirmed by AFP from independent sources.
