The police confirmed in Augsburg, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Göttingen, and in Neunkirchen, Germany evacuations of the town halls. Also in schleswig-Holstein, Rendsburg and in the Saxon town of Chemnitz, the town halls were evacuated because of the threats.

The threats were apparently made directly to the E-mail addresses of the respective town halls. This investigator confirmed in several of the affected cities. Details of the further content of the threatening e-mails and the sender was not available initially.
