It has been dubbed ‘one of the most uplifting stories’, Adam Gorlitsky, who is lame from the waist down, on Friday participated in the Los Angeles marathon.
the Man with the jernviljen chose to participate, by means of a modern ‘skeleton’, which gave him the opportunity to go in the race.
He went 17.2 mil, equivalent to about 27 kilometers.
the Journey towards the finish line began on Friday, where he was after 19 hours, 11 miles mark at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
Saturday, he started again, where he reached the 20 miles mark.
When he ended his own race, he had rounded the 27 kilometres. Though he has not completed a whole marathon, he is proud of his efforts and has told, that he will continue to try, for he is the first person in history to complete a marathon as the lamb.
Adam began to train for the race three years ago, he has earlier told to TMZ. Here he got the skeleton, that could help to go, and the dream began to shape itself.
in addition to his own goal, he makes it also to bring attention to the case ‘I’ve Got Legs’, which helps people with various disabilities to accomplish their goals with different technology. It was Adam himself who started the organization in 2015.
Adam became paralysed after a traffic accident back in 2005, where he was told by doctors that he would never get to go again.
He has since then done everything to disprove that opinion.
