”The special prosecutor’s investigation established that there were two main Russian attempts to influence the elections in 2016.” Secondly, the attempt of the ”trollfabriken” Internet Research Agency (IRA) in St. Petersburg, which previously led to charges against a group of Russian citizens and companies. Partly hackandet of computers and servers that belonged to the Democrats and Hillary Clinton, in which the materials were submitted to the site Wikileaks.

”The special prosecutor’s investigation did not find that the Trumpkampanjen or someone connected to the conspired or cooperated with Russia in its attempts to influence the U.S. presidential election in 2016.” Not when it comes to hack – ”despite several offers from ryskkopplade people to help Trumpkampanjen”.

A number of acts of the president of the Trump – ”the majority of which have been the subject of public reporting” – has been investigated as a suspicious attempt to prevent the course of justice. It is, inter alia, on the dismissal of FBI director James Comey after that he wanted to praise the president’s loyalty.

Barr writes that the report presents evidence that points in both directions.

”The special prosecutor concludes that ‘although this report does not draw the conclusion that the president committed a crime, exonerate the not him’,” writes the minister of justice.

Barr writes, however, that he and the department does not consider that there is sufficient evidence, and points out that all of that is taken up in the report must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

”the Report does not recommend any further prosecution, nor has the special prosecutor been achieved in some closed case that has not yet been published.”

the Details then?

the minister of Justice is not bound to publish the report in its entirety, but congress may try to take legal action. Barr writes that he takes the public interest into consideration, and that his ”goal and intention” is to drop as much as possible of the report, ”in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and departementsregler”.
