Billions in investment and closer trade relations with – Italy has signed the controversial silk road agreement with China. However, even parts of the government in Rome have concerns.
A special frame for a special signature In the Villa Madama, the magnificent representation of the house of the Italian government, on the Monte Mario overlooking the rooftops of the capital, concluded in Rome and Beijing, with their new, closer cooperation. Italy’s Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, and China’s leader Xi Jinping signed the agreement with Italy joins the so-called silk road project in China.
Along with this political Declaration of intent, 29 agreements have been signed, including ten binding economic agreements. Italian companies received orders in a total volume of several billion euros, among other things, for the construction of steel factories in China, the supply of gas turbines, the construction of gas networks, but also for the Export of agricultural products such as oranges and pork. Conversely, Beijing is investing in the ports of Genoa and Trieste.
