”the Pass must be renewed every five years. You hardly have time to travel somewhere.”
”It has come a new kyrkohandbok. It is for those who want to build their own church?”
I’m sitting in the Royal library’s reading room and tries to laugh. It is slow, but every time I pull a little on the corners of the mouth is strengthened my conviction that I had seen a incomparable concert.
the frenchman James Kent aka Perturbator, at Debaser. The club boils over. Stroboskopen flash. The base rumbles. Perturbator makes a dark variation of the electronic music synthwave. The sound is digitally crackling but the intensity comes from thrash metal. James Kent’s first album was Slayer’s ”Reign in blood”. Behind their synths, he carries out the ”helikopterheadbang” associated with it, the band’s vocalist Tom Araya (who ended up after having had a severe neck injury). James Kent whisks his long hårman around the around the around while a livetrummis whips forward-controlled beats.
It is a perfect concert until my friend Hipster-Kristofer, which received its name from that he is extremely trend-conscious, starts to complain that the audience consists of ”oknullade at KTH”. He is wrong. The front of the stage sweating everything from long-haired black metal satanists to dilute the revjtjejer and seniorsynthare. But when Hipster-Kristofer complaining about something, and he does often, his strident voice hard to ignore. ”Incels!” he cries, and aims at näthatande, young men living in involuntary celibacy. ”Quiet”, I reply and try to concentrate on the Perturbator that in front of their muffled pulsing masterpiece ”Future club”. Hipster-Kristofer picks up the heavy artillery. He makes his voice darker as he sounds like a jovial merchant: ”the Blender! This to Blender! BEELAAANDAREEEN!”
His malice is so sharp that it makes a scratch apart my concert experience.
humortidning as the students, dressed in yellow overalls and cap with a tassel, usually sell outside of NK. Many locals get irritated at them. Seriehunden Rocky warned a friend who started studying at KTH: ”I See you standing outside NK and sell the Mixer so is the mouth on my 9mm the last thing you see in life.”
After the concert, I have tinnitus and goose bumps. I have also left the Hipster-Kristofer ”the Mixer”-the roar in his head. His malice is so sharp that it makes a scratch apart my concert experience. It feels like when I was in the nineties worked in the fashion magazine Bible and a colleague – who probably wishes to remain anonymous, but we can call him Andres said that my dark blue Boss-rock, which I loved, was a ”Dave Stewart-rock”. My rock resembled not at all the trench coat as Eurythmics guitarist used to wear. But it played no role. At the end of the nineties was the Eurythmics so ocoola that comment got me to hang in the Boss his coat in the closet for five years – until I 2002 listened to the duo’s album ”Revenge” (as Kent was inspired by the ”Guns & ammo”) and realized that it was stupid snobbery to dismiss Dave Stewart.
” says Rocky’s buddy on the Blender. If only I can find something funny in the newspaper I can hopefully waving away the Hipster-Kristofer insult with the words: ”Yes, Perturbator-the fans-selling the may Mixer. So what?” Then I can concentrate on remembering one of the best concerts I’ve seen. Therefore, I am now in the library’s reading room and browsing in the Blender to find at least one joke that makes me laugh out loud.
”I have 25 kW and over. Do you have a cloakroom?”
It is not easy.
”I sengvetare. I know all about sengar.”
But I’m not giving up.
