Movie James Gunn will back as a director of the third part of ‘Guardians of The Galaxy’. Disney fired the guy last year in July, but has him adopted, reports Deadline.
Gunn was in July fired when the old tweets from the director emerged in which he jokes about pedophilia and rape. Disney acted quickly by Gunn to dismiss as a director of the third part of the popular series, because they felt that the comments could not in the #MeToo-era and this is not in line with Disney’s family-friendly image.
The decision was generally with a lot of misunderstanding received. Also the cast of ‘Guardians of The Galaxy’ remained behind Gunn, and wrote an open letter to support him. Gunn wrote and directed the first two Guardians movies. That gave Disney 773 and 863 million dollars.
Why the decision now is reversed, is not clear. According to Deadline would be a few months ago the knot are decided after discussions between Disney and co-producer Marvel. The fact that Disney, the greatest difficulty was to find a replacement for Gunn, will probably be played.
Relieved
James Gunn himself has relieved and happy responded that he still can get to work with the third part of the ‘Guardians of The Galaxy’-film series. Via Twitter he thanks the people who in recent months have continued to support. “I am everyone who has supported me so thankful. I continue to learn and continue to work to become the best possible version of myself. I appreciate the decision of Disney is huge,” writes James.
