A long and glorious career in the Danish badminton is over.

Friday night played Christinna Pedersen played his last match in his career in the quarterfinals at the Swiss Open.

The 32-year-old doublespecialist lost along with his partner Mathias Christiansen in the mixed doubles to a chinese pairs Chen Lu and Lu Ka.

The femteseedede chinese won 21-19, 21-23 and 21-17.

Earlier in the week announced Christinna Pedersen, that she no longer had the spark to play at the highest levels.

To TV2 Sport she says that it was an emotional moment, when his last ball was played.

– It was with tears in our eyes and with goosebumps.

– It is not because I have made myself of notions about how it would be, but since the last ball does not go to our side, I can feel a lump in your throat, and then it just ended.

– It is a strange feeling to stand with, says Christinna Pedersen to TV2 Sport.

The Danish badmintonstjerne has several times been european champion in both the ladies ‘ doubles and mixed doubles, and twice it has been for the medals at the OLYMPICS.

At the OLYMPICS in 2012 in London she won the bronze in the mixed doubles together with the former partner Joachim Fischer.

Four years later, it was to OLYMPIC silver in Rio in the women’s doubles with Kamilla Rytter Juhl.
