In 2009, as Shelby Clarke was 14 years old, she and her mother ride in the uk theme park Pleasure Beach, which is located in Blackpool on the uk’s west coast. During the visit they came to the park’s ‘Dancing Water’ fountain, where several children ran and played. Shelby and her mother also went into the fountain. It was here it went wrong.
According to the Daily Mail was Shelby Clarke hit by a beam in the fountain, which was so hard that it pitched her over the edge.

– I noticed that it felt like I really should on the toilet. But so it was, I discovered that there was blood all over the place, says the now 19-year-old Shelby to the newspaper.

She was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors initially thought that she had been raped, because the damage, as the beam from the fountain had caused in her abdomen was so severe.
the Operation took 2.5 hours and required 250 stitches in Shelby Clarke abdomen. She had to be in the hospital for three days, was home from school for six weeks, and long after was the restroom associated with anxiety.
today – six years after the accident – is she still the mark of the incident. She can’t have sex without there being pain involved, and it is unknown whether she will be able to have children naturally.
today announces the park always, that people should leave the fountain before a show, which involves the powerful jets of water. Moreover, there are guards at the fountain, which ensures that there are no persons in it during shows.

Shelby Clarke received compensation from Pleasure Beach theme park, but want to continue to draw attention to her experience, so that the same does not happen for another in a different place.
– I can’t help to think what would have happened if it had been a two-year-old child – she would have been slain. I want to ensure that it does not happen for any other, she says to the Daily Mail.
