Ostend demolition in the Langestraat in Ostend did workers Tuesday morning a remarkable discovery. On the mantelpiece in the living room of a breaking down building was a vliegtuigbom from the Second world War. The former occupant used the springtuig as ornament and thought it’s probably too risky for the colossus to take on the move.

“I believed at first my eyes. When I got closer went to look, I saw right away that it is a bomb went. As the procedures the prescription, I the police are called in,” says construction worker Gillian Labens of the firm of Francis Dumalin.
