“A lawyer back after mysterious disappearance”
“The chinese human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong, who has been missing for two days has come back. It says his wife, Jin Bianling, located in the united states.”
“The 47-year-old lawyer, who has taken on many controversial cases with the tibetan demonstrators and practitioners in the Falun Gong movement, for example, were detained along with 200 other lawyers and activists in 2015. Two years later, he admitted guilty to inciting subversion, in what Amnesty international called a sham trial and sentenced to two years in prison.”
“Police officers outside the prison told activists Jiang Tianyong was taken away after he was released from prison on Thursday, but did not say why or by whom. Two days later, he surfaced in his hometown of Xinjang and now Jiang Tianyong from his parents – but with police stationed outside the home, according to his wife.”
” I’m afraid that he’ll disappear anytime. I hope that he can come to the united states as soon as possible and be reunited with us, ” says Jin Bianling to the AFP.”
