DSB-Harry’s father, Bahnsen, Torkild from the ‘Flashing lights’, the Desert sun and rhyming host at the Eurovision Song Contest.

at Home we know Søren Pilmark from many different roles, but right now it is in Norway, which is bidding for the 64-year-old actor.

Søren Pilmark has landed the role of king Haakon in the coming NRK-series ‘Atlantic Crossing’, and he is a bit of a royal doppelganger, if he do say so myself.

– It is almost uncanny how much I look like the king Haakon. I had really not thought, says Søren Pilmark to the Norwegian newspaper VG.

Thursday and Friday, Pilmark been in Lillehammer for the record the dramatic scenes from the war’s first days.

– I am very honoured to be allowed to play the king Haakon in this series, says Søren Pilmark on to the newspaper.

It has been a necessity for the Norwegian producers of ‘Atlantic Crossing’ to find an English speaking actor for the role of king Haakon. He was – as some might remember – the second oldest son of king Frederik 8. and the younger brother of king Christian 10. of Denmark. King Haakon was known as prince Carl of denmark before he in connection with his accession to the throne took the Norwegian name of a king.

– because of the language we had to have a Danish actor, and thus there were fewer to choose from. But Søren is an accomplished actor who plays the role of king Haakon, with dignity and authority. At the same time, he is given the empathetic and warm sides of king Haakon, and it is important, says Alexander Eik, who is the man behind the Norwegian tv-series, to VG.
