The Likud party, despite the allegations of corruption behind Netanyahu. The Premier does not want to withdraw. Ten years ago, he was in a similar case, yet even the biggest critics.
Israel in the year 2008. Against Ehud Olmert, then Prime Minister, are being investigated for corruption on suspicion. A certain Benjamin Netanyahu – then in Opposition – calls vehemently Olmert’s resignation.
“He’s up to his neck in the investigation,” said Netanyahu, more than ten years ago. “As a result, Olmert has no moral or political mandate to make important decisions for the state of Israel,” said Netanyahu. “Because it is the not unfounded suspicion that he will make his decisions based on his personal Survival in politics and not in the national interest.”

Now it meets Netanyahu
Olmert announced in that year his resignation. However, the current Prime Minister Netanyahu – who had once allocated against Olmert – rejected it. Also, Netanyahu is under suspicion of corruption. The attorney General accuses him of bribery, embezzlement and fraud.
The indictment runs, subject to a hearing to Express in which Netanyahu the allegations. And so it now meets Netanyahu. The opposition leader, Shelly Yachimovitch called on the Internet portal “Ynet” for his resignation. “He can’t compete in the coming elections. And he shall exercise the office of the Prime Minister,” she said, and reasoned it this way: “Netanyahu is fighting for his political Survival. And when a man leads such a fight, he can’t simultaneously fight for his country. All the decisions he will make from now on will stand in the shadow of this one thing that will keep him busy around the clock.”
For this “thing” could be sentenced to Netanyahu to be a prison sentence. Netanyahu says, however, the allegations against him would dissolve soon in the air. He speaks of a witch hunt against him and his family. On 9. April will be elected in Israel.
