After nine long years is considered the movie now premiärduglig – it is both exciting and educational story about an artist that we so often seen as an illustrator and cartoonist at the pinnacle of the characters, in the many and mixed contexts. He was known for his richly detailed book illustrations, stage sets, album covers (ABBA’s ”Greatest hits”) as well as the well-known and attention-grabbing this Week’s Shock-pictures in-Veckorevyn in several decades.

Here, there is also much that shows his great width, his tremendous attention to detail and, not least, his phenomenal associative internal. And: The total orädsla he displays to connect together seemingly incompatible elements. With His Arnold’s pen looks simple and natural look – the polar opposites that seem to have sought each other for life.

tell his life, from the strict, stringent, stuffy catholic life in the small swiss village of Sursee outside of Luzern (where he then pass the corresponding Konstfacksexamen), to a much wilder and more released artist and bohemliv in Stockholm in the 50’s and 60’s.

the image quality in intervjuklippen and the sequences depicting His Arnold’s daily lives is not seldom erbarmlig. Micke Engström compensates to assemble the big key, and fun image collages, especially interesting with His Arnolds own comments. I also think engström’s ambitious attempt to create a compensatory sound is commendable.

His Arnold’s constant creation is all the time in the centre, everything else must we condone – and do it. His genius had a wide audience, of all ages. They get 85 minutes to fall in a trance over him.
