Caroline Garcia easily qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing on Thursday by eliminating the Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-3, 6-2) in less than an hour and a half.
In the next round, the Frenchwoman, seeded number 9 in the tournament and ranked 10th in the WTA rankings, will have a lot to do, since she will face the Polish Iga Swiatek, world number 2, who fell on Wednesday to her compatriot Magda Linette (6 -1, 6-1). The two players have faced each other three times so far, and the Pole has won twice.
