Niskanen set the standard on klassiskdelen and got hooked by the best sprinters, such as John Høsflot Klæbo, Emil Iversen, Sergey Ustjugov and Alex Harvey. Tetgruppa became less and less until Røthe left standing as the band’s best sprints.

– I wish the really Sjur this gold. He has struggled so much with injuries and illness the last few years. I look at Sjur like a really good guy and a fair sportsman. It is rare it means something for me who any winner from the other nations, but it is different with Sjur. I’m really on his behalf. And it’s not just something I say. I mean it really.
Common hesteinteresse
Røthe and Niskanen have a good relationship.
– We have a very good relationship and share the same passion in trot. I’m looking forward to we can have a chat together about trotting and equestrian sports again, ” says the Finnish langrennsstjerna.
Sjur Røthe smiled from ear to ear after that world cup-gold was a fact.
– I almost had to laugh a little when I came first across the finish line. All klaffet. The plan was to be nr. 2 into the next ground and attack around the last turn, get the second behind the first rider and asked past. It was like an american film with happy ending, says Røthe to the Newspaper.

– Explodes in feelings
the Feelings took the upper hand for herrelandslagstrener Eirik Myhr Nossum in the minutes after the finish.
– This was a day that went exactly as we dreamed about. I had to have me a few minutes to myself. It just explodes in emotions. It boils over when Sjur win. It was tears of joy, ” says Nossum to the Newspaper.

– Yes, it shows that giving up is silly. The job Sjur has done since last year, and not least the support system around him, is absolutely fantastic. When we all know the hours that lies behind it here, that is when the tears come.
– Sjur is an extremely wise skier. He is the kindest man in the street. He is simply a hedersmann and the first thing you take with you in the war. Sjur is a cut in the team.
