– My girlfriend rejoice enough over, that I occasionally get one on the lamp – so long as I win!

Oliver Møllenberg is a blank sheet of paper. But the 18-year-old kid from Gilleleje Bokseklub is the latest installment in the Danish boxing.

In January, chose the Danish easy-weltervægter to kick-start his career with a convincing knockout victory already in the 1. place of Serbian Nemanja Jasenovski – even in a sold-out Gilleleje the Hall and with his ancestral origins – and manager – Thomas Møllenberg as the promoter.

The brilliant debut attracted inevitable attention from the bl.a. the new, Danish boxes-promoter Peter Forsman.

Oliver’s rock hard leverstød convinced Peter Forsman on, that here was an exceptional talent and a potential WORLD cup star. And the young Møllenberg’is signed, then a four-year contract with Forsman Sports Management.

– I will be the youngest junior world champion. The big dream is, without doubt, that the boxes the nwa WORLD heavyweight championship in one of the big bokseforbund, says Oliver Møllenberg to Ekstra Bladet during a short training session in Gilleleje Bokseklub.

– I’m bottom serious. And I have dropped my plans on training to focus 100 percent on boxing – it is damn sure not for fun! he stresses.

Thomas Møllenberg, president of Gilleleje Bokseklub, bl.a. for many years, been a part of Denmark Boxes Union elite-section – and no coach in a short year.

The experienced boksetræner shall, in all modesty, Oliver Møllenbergs potential:

Oliver has the whole package! And he can go all the way. If he becomes world champion in one of the large bokseforbund? Time will tell. But he keeps a profile on the Danish boksescene – I am quite sure! says Thomas Møllenberg.

– After an incredibly long and difficult discussion has Oliver been allowed to postpone his training and chasing his dream, he says, and adds:

He disregards-namely, everything! An 18-year-old kid, sitting at home forever and every weekend without having to take to a party – instead tying he shoes each and every morning. Oliver has sky-high ambitions. And he lives and breathes for boxing.

the 18-year-old Oliver Møllenberg boxer its just the second professional fight against the older Serbian 28-year-old Mirko Jovic by boxing promoter Peter Forsmans debutstævne in Vesterhavshallen in Ringkøbing Saturday.

Education on hold

– It is perhaps not a wise move, to initiate the Thomas Møllenberg.

But with Oliver Møllenbergs boxes-knowledge, it was still immensely difficult to argue against:

– We live in a society where we preferably should go the right way … You must quickly through the training, so you end up as a product, the community can make money on. But Oliver has chosen its own path, and with the talent and the dedication he put in for the day, it should probably go, assures Thomas Møllenberg.

I have always said to my children: ‘Select everything other than boxing!’ It is so bone-thumping tough and inhumane a sport. And there are not many that come well out of it on the other side … So yes, it makes since that I become uneasy – and I have never been an advocate of that, Oliver Møllenberg should be a professional boxer, he says.

But with the surname of Møllenberg, it was obviously in spite of everything in the cards that also 18-year-old Oliver had to make a career within the sport.

It was a tough decision. And my parents said, of course, that it was risky. But the school has always been number two in my world – especially after all the good boxes-results, ” says a determined Oliver Møllenberg.

– I can’t fully focus on both things. So I would rather do one thing at a time. When his career in boxing is over, then I can think about training again.

– I have just completed 10. class (in Hillerød, denmark, red.). And already it was difficult to combine boxing and homework – even though lektiepresset in 10. class was not the greatest. I WOULD train twice a day, and therefore was homework only made half. I was f.ex. up at 05.00 in the morning to go jogging at 10 to 15 km before I was going with the Pig (the train, red.) to Hillerød, he says.

Boksetræner and commentator Brian Mathiasen:

– It is too early yet to foretell how far the potential rows. In Oliver’s first match, I could see that the talent is the devil! But with the young age and the lack of routine in the professional game – as he has much to learn yet. He forivrer care f.ex. too much in his first match.

– Oliver must be matched in the reasonable way, until he gets somewhat older. Maybe the prof-career come a bit early? As far as I know, he has not bokset seniorkampe on amateur.

– the Lack of routine and the senior-boxing is certainly present. But Oliver Møllenberg is a intriguing name and a great talent without a doubt. He comes into a game now, which is very, very hard. And it is acceptable that he is being matched softly in the beginning. And when he finally gets put under pressure, so we also find out what he consists of.
