Actually, everything should have been long gone: in 2005, the Sindelfingen-based punk band Wizo announced their dissolution. Until then, the Fun – and-political-Punk to Axel Kurth had provided their Fans with Songs that celebrated, as in “cadet B” a car of the Opel brand, or with “The Golden piece of Shit” neo-Nazis, politicians and the Church, accused, and at the same time tolerance and justice demanded. In 1986 as a school band founded, managed to Wizo nine years later to the USA and were shortly afterwards with The Doctors to go on tour.
Not a few who were in the middle of the Nineties in the German-speaking young, sang in sold-out halls, together with the Swabians, the frustration of the soul. But where Wizo stand on it, there was rarely Trouble. The Song “do Not talk”, with its sung call for violent revolt, was not the only one who landed on the Index.

Now, 33 years after founding, the Band is in almost new line-up on the “beauty of decay”-Tour and playing to sold-out houses. The lyrics, the Axel Kurth sings today, are less combative than in the past: “time passes by /And the shit will go on”. Wizo seem to look back to the angry years, and a quite remarkable band’s career. At a time in some of their old Songs to fit as good as it was then.
