In a survey carried out by Odoxa for Winamax and RTL, on a sample of 1005 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over (including 504 rugby fans), 82% of those questioned believe that Antoine Dupont should not return on the field to play the potential quarter-final, on October 15, against South Africa. 56% of them want to preserve him for a possible semi-final rather than doing everything so that he plays in the quarter-finals (41%)
Those surveyed justified their choice by being worried about his health (74%), for the rest of his career (68%), and thought, in any case, that he would not be at his best level in the quarter-finals ( 76%). A paradox since they judge that his absence would reduce the chances of winning the World Cup: 82% of French people think that the French XV can be titled with him, compared to 70% without him.

Finally, to replace him, rugby fans would prefer the LOU scrum half Baptiste Couilloud (59%) rather than that of the UBB, Maxime Lucu (40%).
