“The Danish police on the hunt for Turkish spies”
“Turkish police officers shall have received help to hunt down opponents of the regime in Denmark. The suspicion is that the person residing in Denmark must have gathered information about the people linked to the Gülen movement. It will, in turn, have led to several people in Denmark reported to the Turkish authorities.”
“According to the Danish security service (PET) deals with three cases of violation of the criminal law the so-called mild spionparagraf. But despite nearly a year of investigations, nothing has happened. PET said to the Danish news agency Ritzau that the investigation is still ongoing and you do not want to elaborate.”
“It is unusual that someone convicted of spying in Denmark. Last time it happened was 2012, when a Finnish professor was sentenced to prison for supplying information to the people at the Russian embassy. 2002 was sentenced to a customs officer for that, up to 1989, provided the east German intelligence agency Stasi with information.”
