A Dutch documentary has insinuated that fertilitetslægen perhaps is the father of up to 200 children through its specialized fertility clinic. So far 47 of the children, the doctor has helped to conceive, had a significant similarity in their DNA with fertilitetslægens son.
Jan Karbaats DNA was requisitioned by the authorities already in 2017, but has been safely locked in a bank vault since, as the judge at the time believed that there was sufficient evidence in the case.
Karbaat managed to work many decades as fertilitetslæge, both in hospitals, a clinic in Rotterdam, and eventually his personal clinic. When his clinic closed in 2009, increased more reports of errors to the surface, including sæddonerne was used too often.
