Odin André Garden Jacobsen (19) from Skaun of the county has been without a trace disappeared in the twelve weeks since a tour of the city in Trondheim on Sunday, 18. november.

the Police have operated a comprehensive investigation since, but the family is still left without an explanation of what happened with his son the night he disappeared.

the Police have, in our opinion, the theory that Odin either fell in Nidelva, jumped deliberately, or disappeared voluntarily in the morning. But from overvåkningsbilder he sees not binge drunk. There is also nothing that indicates that he wanted to take his life or walk away, ” says Dan Yngve Jacobsen, the father of Odin, to Dagbladet.

He fears that interest in the case decreases, and that the puzzle remains uoppklart.

Found objects

Odin left his house, where he lives with his parents, to go on a training Saturday 17. november. He was scheduled to travel home again after that, but ended instead up in a hotel room in the centre of Trondheim where he should have been at a party with other young people.

It is after he went home from the city centre and boasts teams with their friends that the police have the last secure observation of him, taken at 05.39 with a security camera Sunday morning outside Fjordgata 46, right by the canal.

the Parents notified police that their son was gone on Sunday, 18. november. Formally, he was reported missing on Monday, 19. november. The police started an investigation and comprehensive search to find him.

Twelve days later, on Thursday 30. november, without traces of Odin, enlightened police in a press release that his things were found scattered over a large area at Brattøra at Trondheim harbour, about two kilometres away from the last observation.

– A random passer-by found the first of odin’s passport, mobile phone, bus and bank cards in the vicinity of the Shell station at the docks. Upon further search found also a plastic bag with dirty laundry from the treningsbagen, he still had borne after having been in training earlier in the evening, down by the Pir II. It was also found one shoe that belonged to him, ” explains Jacobsen.

But the 19-year-old was, however, not found, and the organized search was ended. The police stated that they were dependent of the specific information in order to consider new søkeområder.

– Heavy to live with the

In a letters to the editor in Adresseavisen, writes Jacobsen about the family’s frustration, and that the parents will be heavy to live with that Odin’s not coming home.

Even worse is that if we are going to wonder what happened, and if one or more gjerningspersoner possible got away, he writes to the newspaper.

He could wish that the police priority to examine video footage from the Brattøra closer.

– It’s been done extensive search in the water. Both in the river, havnebassengene, the channel and even in the bay, but they have not found the boy. Still keeps the police fixed that Odin has drowned, ” says Jacobsen to Dagbladet.

Jacobsen tells that Odin was a highly skilled swimmer with a diving certificate, and if he had fallen in Nidelva he would probably have had good chances to succeed.

the Police did a kjempearbeid to begin with, track overvåkningsbilder through the city and analyse these, he says, and continues:

WANT the INVESTIGATION: – If Odin has been the subject of any criminal, deserves he that those responsible are caught, ” says Dan Yngve Jacobsen, the father. Photo: Private Show more

– But we do not believe that they have seen over important overvåkningsbilder from the docks the morning of Odin disappeared, sufficient. Trondheim harbour is the city’s most densely monitored area and it is impossible to move down there without being filmed many times.

Inspectorate provides konsesjonshaveren a target for storing images of up to seven days. After this deadline, the old images will be overwritten by the new, and one should use experts to get access to content that can still be preserved. The artifacts of Odin was found after twelve days.

We have talked with experts on the recovery of data that says that it could well have been possible to find usable images on havnevesenets server anyway. If there still exist images on the server, is recovery of video footage, perhaps the only thing that can give the answer on what happened with our son, ” says Jacobsen.

No offense

Head of investigation at Gauldal politistasjonsdistrikt, Per Christian Stokke, confirms to Dagbladet that the police, after a thorough investigation, do not have indication that there has been any criminal offense related to Odin’s disappearance.

the Case has been investigated broadly from the start. We have made thorough research when it comes to the theory that there must have happened something punishable, but these hypotheses we have for each not found sufficient grounds to proceed with the after an extensive investigation, ” he says.

the Stokke says that they have tried to look at the overvåkningsbildene from the docks the morning of Odin disappeared, as well as indicate these. But it has been challenging.

– We have tried to download, but without getting good enough results that they can provide us with further traces in the case. On overvåkningsbildene, which shows the harbor where the objects to Odin was found the morning of the disappearance, it is only a matter of a few pixels of the imagery that is left on the server, ” says Stokke.

– Write-you very quickly that it had not happened something criminal with Odin?

” We are in dialogue with the family, and we will still keep all the hypotheses open.

50 000 in bounty

the Family fears that odin’s disappearance will end uoppklart, but they do not give up the hope to get a reply. Therefore, they have utlovet a bounty of 50 000 to the one who had come with the essential tips in the case.

We do this in an attempt to arouse interest in the case again, and because they know that something can be motivated to think about a time, ” says Jacobsen.

the Family is also well underway to fund a private investigator through a private collection.

Saturday, next weekend, 23. February, will be held a torchlight procession to put a focus on the case, as well as collect more money to be able to fund a private investigator. We will be at the bottom of this. If Odin was the victim of something criminal deserve him, that those responsible are taken.
