Facebook has to pay a newspaper report that because of privacy violations in the U.S. may be a billion-dollar Fine. The US trade supervision and the company negotiated an agreement in the dispute over the transfer of data from the 87 million users in the meanwhile, applied to British consultancy firm, Cambridge Analytica, triggered the “Washington Post” reported on Thursday.
Both sides have not yet agreed on the specific amount of a penalty payment, it could be a company with billions of dollars but, the biggest ever punishment for a technology, said two of the process, persons familiar to the newspaper. Facebook said that the company was working with the supervision, declined further Comments, however. The supervisor took no position on the report.
The Trade inspection is investigating whether Facebook has, with the passing on of user data to Cambridge Analytica and the other against a privacy law in 2011 failed. With 22.5 million dollars with the Google-mother Alphabet had to pay the biggest ever penalty imposed due to data protection offences. (hvw/sda)
