Max Verstappen (NED/Red Bull), 11th in qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday: “During FP3 (the last practice session held on Saturday before qualifying, editor’s note), things were going a little better, we were going in the right direction steering, but we changed a few things (for qualifying) thinking it would do it in the settings… but it ended up being too aggressive and I was sliding a lot in every corner (…). I don’t think we can do much (during the GP on Sunday). This will probably be a one-stop race if nothing crazy happens. For overtaking you have to be a lot quicker and I don’t think we are. I just had a terrible time.”
Sergio Pérez (MEX/Red Bull), 13th in qualifying: “During my last attempt (to enter the Top 10 where pole is at stake), I had a big lack of engine power, there was a big slowdown , then the engine came back on, which meant that I locked the wheels and was unable to make a final attempt on the last lap (…). The pace seemed very good yesterday, but I’m not expecting much to be honest (for the race on Sunday). Given our position on the grid, it will be difficult to move up.”
