85 meters long by 4 meters high. The wall of the car park at La Cartonnerie, a music hall in Reims, is now covered with gigantic manga characters. The graffiti fresco, produced as part of the Reims Colorz festival, required the cooperation of 25 artists. The first edition of the hip-hop festival, punctuated by concerts and street art, was held in the city of coronations on September 9 and 10. DJs and 25 artists from Reims, Saint-Quentin, Calais, Lille, Troyes came together to share art and hip-hop culture on one of the facades of the Cartonnerie. These numerous creations, with varied colors, shapes, and artistic styles, required a great effort of communication between graffiti artists. “We exchange a lot because we are on the same piece. I have some of my lettering that goes over my friend’s. So, we have to work together,” Meat, member of the North Colorz collective, told France info. Equipped with spray paint and a good dose of imagination, the artists still adhered to the manga theme. This universe, rich in series and anime, has inspired graffiti artists. “I already loved it when I was a child.
