Clearly, life is not a long, quiet river between the Rhône and the Saône. War between managers, departures of young people from the club, a disgraced coach and a crisis of results… A context which pushed the Bad Gones, the club’s largest group of supporters, to act. While a surreal scene already took place on Sunday evening at Groupama stadium (defeated against Paris), when the Bad Gones kapo spoke to the players, the “BG87” added a layer on Monday evening. Through their social media channels, they released a statement addressing the players and targeting just about everyone from the players to management.

It was first of all the young players who left the Lyon ship, Lukeba and Barcola, who took it for their rank: “Are you playing the Lyonnais card at heart? You are only paper Lyonnais that our memory will forget as quickly as possible, without forgiving your lack of respect (…) We wish you an obscure career, polishing the benches. Who loves well punishes well, and the Lyonnais punished them well on Sunday evening by whistling them copiously.

The Bad Gones also targeted Textor and Aulas, who had been at war for some time: “Our leaders of yesterday and today settle scores by playing whoever pisses the furthest. (…) What a shame to flout the honor of the club, to appear like a vulgar telenovela”. In question, waging a war of egos when the club is doing so badly: “Too far from our essential concern: football”. The supporters also attacked Laurent Blanc, questioning his investment “far from obvious”.

The conclusion of the press release is intended to be positive: “we will continue to play our role […] while waiting to find Europe, to remain the guarantors of the identity of the Coat of Arms and the Club”. And finally: “The ball is in your court, aim well, aim true, and raise the head of this historic club!” The message is passed, to the actors to show that it is understood.
