He fled with his parents from the Nazis. Today, the Holocaust Survivor Friedlander reminded the Bundestag of the victims. He warned again increasing anti-Semitism.

In its own history, Saul friedländer recalled at the beginning. First, he read from diary entries and newspaper articles from the beginning of the 40s. Evidence that the Germans knew what happened to the Jews. Friedländer was six years old when he and his parents fled from the Nazis from Prague to France. While he was hidden in a Catholic boarding school, tried his parents the arduous journey over the Alps in Switzerland.

Friedländer wondered: “What went well in them, as she saw how her little Boy who fought back with hands and feet, because he wanted to stay with them, your room has been removed? It was our last encounter.”

Switzerland took the parents, so that they had to return to France and, finally, from the Nazis to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp were deported.

The historian Friedländer says it was him, not easy, on the invitation of the Bundestag.

Friedländer got a French name. His new life, he said, but started in Israel. In 1948, the now 86-Year-old took part in the Israeli war of independence. He said the creation of Israel was for him and the remaining European Jews have been necessary. And the right of Israel to exist until today untouchable, even if it is legitimate to criticize Israel’s policies. However, it was absurd how hard the passing.
