The winter sales that are still running until the 31st of January, have not been successful. That sets Fashion Union, the federation for the self-employed modedetailhandel, in a press release. Average sold stand-alone modehandelaars 7 percent less sales in comparison with the winter sales last year.
Main cause is according to the dealers the warm winter weather. “It did not, in any case, good on the sale,” said Isolde Delanghe, director of the Fashion Union. “In addition to this, however, must also be taken into account the changing purchasing behaviour of the consumer and with the fact that modewinkeliers less bought the place and that makes it less stock.”

According to the federation indicates, 57 percent of the modewinkeliers that they this winter season, fewer have sold than last year. In addition, 34 percent as much, and 9 percent sold better. On average, there is still a 25-percent stock in the shop hanging on the end of the sales, or 2 percent more than after the end of the winter sales last year. Those figures come from a survey by the research firm Marketing and Development at 840 independent modehandelaars, in behalf of Fashion Union.
