It is small, it is light, and so may have almost three times as many shots in the magazine as the old one.

the Soldiers in the army, the air force and the navy get from the next month a new gun belt, when the previous Neuhausen sent on pension of a more up-to-date gun from the manufacturer Sig Sauer in the UNITED states.

The new pistol called the P320, and according to chief petty officer Michael Jørgensen, who is one of the Defence våbeneksperter from the Group of the Struggle in Oksbøl is a much needed improvement for the Danish soldiers.

– It is somewhat easier, because it is made of carbon, which is also easier to maintain. In addition, it has a more significant aftrækspunkt and therefore is easier to learn to shoot with than the old one, says Michael Jørgensen.

The old Neuhausen-gun. After 70 years, with a swiss gun get Danish soldiers now a modern from the UNITED states. The new gun from the company Sig Sauer has created quite a stir in Germany, but according to the Defence is the Danish procurement completely by the book. Photo: Ritzau Scanpix
It is not otherwise because, as such, is something wrong with the current gun, which is developed before the Second world War and have served the Defense since 1949.

in Fact, the aim is on the old Canal more precisely than in the new, says Michael Jørgensen:

– But the soldiers have not all the time in the world and must not use their weapons to shoot a hole-in-the-hole.

– The newer ones have a coarser sieve, but provides a faster sigtebillede, and it can be vital for you to come home again with the skin on the nose.

Even if the practitioner is enthusiastic, everything has been seamlessly around the new gun.

Shortly after the announcement of the purchase last year of Defence Equipment and Indkøbsstyrelse (FMI) into a tailspin.

It came to pass, when the newspaper Politiken wrote that Sig Sauers in Germany were under suspicion of having fiddled with its export permit in order to be able to deliver weapons to the colombian police.

Thus was the Defense on edge with the state’s ethical standards, wrote the newspaper.

the Defense has subsequently investigated the matter, and according to the head of the IMF’s landmilitære division, colonel Christian Ishøj, there is nothing to come after.

The German Sig Sauer is a different company than the american Sig Sauer Inc., as the Defence and the Danish supplier has acted with.

– They (the German company, red.) neither have been involved in our acquisition or production, says Christian Ishøj.

In all, the Defense purchased about 6,000 Sig Sauer pistols for a total cost of dkk 25 million.
